In 2014, Embrace Relief has opened up a soup kitchen to serve people in need in Malindi, Kenya in partnership with Omeriye Foundation.
The focus of the soup kitchen was the impoverished Somalian refugee population which found a safe haven in this part of Kenya after years of war and conflict in their own country. Built on a 7,500 sq ft area, the facility has become a beacon of hope not only for the Somalian refugee community but also for Kenyans.
Thanks to the ongoing support of our volunteers, this soup kitchen has served hot meals to thousands of people for free. Especially recently during the month of Ramadan the local community has been at peace, knowing their next meal would be ready and waiting for them. Volunteers of Omeriye Foundation have even delivered some of that food to people’s homes.

On top of hot meals in the soup kitchen, both organizations have also distributed food packs to families in need.
