Embrace Relief volunteers organized community members for a briefing to assist with humanitarian aid efforts in Bosnia and Turkey. The Turkic-American community gathered for a lunch-fundraising event for the victims of both tragedies in Bosnia and in Turkey. On May 13,2014  a mining disaster claimed the lives of nearly 300 miners in Soma in Manisa, Turkey. According to reports the death toll is still rising. The disaster was caused by a fire in the mine. Efforts were made to save the victims, however, only 88 have been rescued.
