World Water Day, on 22 March every year, is about taking action to tackle the water crisis in the world.
One of the sustainable development goals of the UN for 2030 is to ensure everyone has access to safe water. Unfortunately, 1.8 billion people use a source of drinking water contaminated with faeces today, putting them at risk of contracting cholera, dysentery, typhoid and polio.
To help alleviate this problem, Embrace Relief has been running clean water projects since 2014. To this day, Embrace Relief provided clean drinking water to almost 200,000 people lacking access to safe water in various parts of the world. A separate website (buildawaterwell.org) which allows our donors to create and crowdfund their own projects was also launched on World Water Day last year.
Today on world water day, we’re asking for your contributions to help complete some of those incomplete water well projects so that we can act faster as every second counts.
Remember: Water is Life!
