Sky For My Neighbor Food Drive

COVID-19 has affected every one of us mentally, physically and financially. There have been a total of around 11 million cases in the US and the cases are still increasing. With precautions getting stricter, we are on the verge of a second lockdown which will affect many of our neighbors’ jobs. A survey conducted by Household Pulse in October 2020 reported that nearly 24 million adults — 10.9 percent of all adults in the country — sometimes or often don’t have enough to eat in the last seven days. This is expected to increase with job losses increasing.  

Therefore, this Thanksgiving, as the Sky Academy Student Association, we have partnered with Embrace Relief and Peace Island Youth Academy to help our neighbors in need and provide them with a Thanksgiving dinner worth $50 per family. With this event, we would like to give hope to our neighbors and remind them that as their neighbor we are there and always will be. We are inviting you to help us in our goal of collecting a minimum of $1,500 to feed at least 30 families. 

Join our tiktok and reels challenge to create creative videos with the #formyneighbor to tell how you are helping your neighbor this Thanksgiving or what are you thankful for. Don’t forget to mention @skyacademynj to be featured in our live event where we will discuss the importance of being thankful and helping our neighbors.  The time of the live will be posted on our social media accounts @skyacademynj.
