Ala-Too International University (AIU) is a rapidly-growing higher education institution located in Bishkek in the Kyrgyz Republic that “Opens the doorways to the world,” as their motto goes. This international university has students and professors from over 20 countries and offers degrees in 3 institutes across 16 departments. The Medical Department opened in 2016 and includes medical disciplines such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, and clinical sciences, including the circulatory system.
The university has a beautiful, newly constructed building attached to the medical department but requires the medical supplies and equipment to make it a functioning university general hospital. Embrace Relief, Ala-Too International University, and Project C.U.R.E. are partnering to bring needed medical supplies and equipment to build a fully functioning university hospital. Here, the AIU medical students will be able to finish their degrees and certificates and treat the residents of the area where they called the last several years “home” during their education and training.
The university hospital requires all the supplies and equipment you can expect to find in a hospital, from the small to the large items. A couple of staple items the hospital requires are hospital beds, stethoscopes, X-ray machines, MRI machines, defibrillators, operating tables, operating lamps, bedside monitors, and much more.
Embrace Relief believes in comprehensive development, which is why we align all of our programs and projects with the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Specifically, this project furthers SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being. Together, we can make a positive, sustainable impact by working together to bring medical supplies and equipment to Ala-Too International University.
Ala-Too International University is accredited by the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan. AIU has an enrollment of approximately 3,000 students and has students and professors from over 20 countries.
Project C.U.R.E. is the world’s largest distributor of donated medical equipment and supplies to resource-limited communities across the globe.
