My name is Osman and I am a high school student in Maryland. Recently, my sister Meryem and I found out how many people in Africa are unable to clearly see or see at all due to having a cataract. It was also surprising to me that this condition was fully treatable with cataract surgery, but many people could not afford to have one. My friends, family and I decided to start a fundraising campaign to help five people in Sub-Saharan Africa receive cataract surgery so they could see well again.
