Last November 11, 2020 at 10:30 p.m., Typhoon Ulysses (Vamco) made landfall in Patnanungan, Quezon Province, Philippines bringing with it torrential rain and destructive winds. On November 12 in the morning, residents of Metro Manila, Southern Luzon, and Central Luzon woke up to flooded roads and homes as the rain and winds continued to wreak havoc. This calamity comes only two weeks after Super Typhoon Rolly (Goni) devastated the Bicol region, causing the deaths of at least twenty people.
The foundations of their houses were critically damaged from the rising waters. Fallen limbs and trees smashed cars and roofs all across the cities. Most of the areas in the Province of Cagayan and Marikina City were flooded and their homes that were left standing need to be completely gutted due to the risk of mold.
In partnership with The Integrative Center for Alternative Development (ICAD) Foundation, which instituted Fountain International School, Academia Language and Review Center in Metro Manila and the Filipino Turkish Tolerance School in Zamboanga City, respectively, we have successfully collected enough donations to provide immediate relief to the victims.
We were able to distribute 100 care packages to the victims of the typhoon. Thank you so much for your unending support and gratitude!
