About this campaign

Health care for women and children in Afghanistan

COVID-19 severely damaged Afghanistan's health infrastructure after decades of medical progress. Infants, children and women remain at high risk, while earthquakes, sandstorms and drought create additional hardship.

The medical clinic

The Embrace Relief-supported clinic in Kabul provides pediatric, gynecological and general internal-medicine services at no cost. Approximately 70 to 90 patients visit each day, most of them women and children.

The mobile medical unit

A team of doctors based in Mazar-i-Sharif travels to towns and villages where the nearest medical center may be miles away over difficult roads. The team provides free screenings and physical examinations six times per week, serving approximately 120 people per trip; about 85% of patients are women.

Your support helps make essential, accessible health care available to women and children who otherwise may go without treatment.
