About this campaign

A recent survey conducted by Embrace Relief’s partners in Tanzania found more than 10,500 people in and around the village of Bondo who currently lack reliable access to clean, safe water. In response to this critical need, our Clean Water Initiative aims to construct two large water towers as well as four auxiliary towers, each located a short distance from the main towers. In total, this project will provide six access points, enabling all Bondo residents to access water each day. These towers will be a lifeline of fresh water for the entire community, including the local primary and secondary schools, and will significantly improve health, well-being, and education, especially for women and children.

Below is an example of 1 central tower and 2 auxiliary towers, which provides 3 water access points. This was constructed in Mkata Village, Tanzania.

We’re thrilled to share that Embrace Relief has secured a generous $15,000 grant from the Charles Lamar Family Foundation of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to support this project. However, we need your support to raise the remaining $10,000 by mid-November in order to complete the project on time.

This is where you come in.

Your contribution, no matter the size, will make an immediate impact. With just a few weeks left, we must act quickly to ensure construction is completed before the rainy season begins, which will halt all operations. Every dollar you can give will help us deliver clean water to Bondo. However, you may also choose to make a larger donation and name one of the wells!

  • $5,000: Name the central water tower
  • $2,500: Name one of the two auxiliary water towers

No matter the amount, every dollar donated will help us reach our goal. Please donate today to help us close the $10,000 gap and bring life-saving water wells to Bondo village.

Why Bondo Village Needs Help Now

Right now, families in Bondo rely on unsafe, contaminated surface water that is often several miles away. Women and children are forced to walk up to 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) daily to collect water that is teeming with dangerous bacteria and parasites. During dry seasons, this situation becomes even more dire, forcing them to travel further, putting their health, safety, and education at risk.

This Clean Water Initiative project will transform lives—but we can’t do it without your support. With your help, we will complete the water towers before the mid-November deadline and provide long-term, reliable water access to more than 10,500 people.

Clean Water Program

Why clean water campaigns matter.

Clean water campaigns help communities replace unsafe rivers, ponds, and shallow wells with dependable water access.

Embrace Relief's clean water work includes new wells, well repairs, field verification, annual maintenance, and donor reporting.

Deep-aquifer wells help reduce exposure to surface contamination and waterborne illness.

Nearby water access gives time back to families, especially women and girls.

Full well projects can include naming, photos, location details, completion reporting, warranty, and annual maintenance.
