Campaign story
While researching various health issues, I became particularly interested in preventable diseases that affect people in underdeveloped regions. Cataracts stood out to me because they are a common cause of blindness, yet treatable with simple surgery. As I delved deeper into this issue, I reflected on the time I spent living in Africa for four years, where I saw many people suffering from preventable conditions due to a lack of access to medical care. The idea of being able to help the place where I had such wonderful memories and experiences excited and motivated me deeply. Wanting to make a difference, I reached out to Embrace Relief, an organization dedicated to global health efforts. Together, we started this project to provide cataract surgeries in Africa, with the goal of helping as many people as possible regain their vision and improve their quality of life.
