Huda Khalife Medical Center: Bring Medical Care Closer to Rural Communities in Mali
Construction is complete. We now need your SUPPORT to equip the MEDICAL CENTER.
For people in the rural areas access to medical care can mean travelling a long way to get a consultation, a lab test or antenatal care. The Huda Khalife Medical Centre in Mali was established to bring that essential healthcare much closer to the people who need it.
Construction of the medical centre is now complete. It has water storage and electrical equipment so the next stage is to provide the medical equipment and consumables to get the centre ready for patients.
With your donation we'll equip the medical centre and take the next step in bringing care to seven rural communities in Mali.

The Huda Khalife Medical Centre is intended to serve the communities within a 20 mile radius (a catchment area of over 12,800 people across 7 surrounding villages).

These are the people who live in the service area that the centre is intended to serve, not patients who have already been seen. The centre will refer on cases which are beyond its own capacity.
Planned care, close to the community
Once equipped and operational, the medical center plans to provide:
Maternal health care
antenatal care, routine delivery and postnatal care.
Basic diagnostics
selected laboratory tests.
Essential medicines
Local pharmacy services.
These services are set up to get the right care into the hands of individuals and families in the surrounding villages.
Working together to provide care
Mali's Ministry of Health will provide the health staff for the centre. Embrace Relief will provide technical supervision and support for the first three years of the centre's operation.
The project also intends to run three free health screenings annually as part of its community engagement. These will be free consultations with essential medicines available where possible.
