New Jersey Children Backpack Drive

It’s been a long, hot summer in New Jersey. But pretty soon, the leaves will start to change, the temperature will cool off, and kids everywhere will be going back to school for a new year.

Every child should be able to be prepared for their first day of classes, and that means equipping themselves with the proper supplies – backpacks, pencils, pens, paper, notebooks, erasers, scissors, rulers, and anything else they may need. Unfortunately, not everyone has the means to afford all of these things. That’s where you come in!

This summer, Embrace Relief and the FBI Newark Citizens Academy Alumni Association are teaming up for our fourth annual back-to-school Backpack Drive to help students in need throughout the state of New Jersey.

Together, we’re looking to provide at least 1,000 students with their very own backpacks full of school supplies, giving them a head start on a successful 2022-23 school year.

Each backpack costs just $10, meaning that you can help support the educational achievement of a young person in New Jersey for the price of a couple cups of coffee. A donation of any amount is welcome, and can make a real difference in the lives of children in need.
