Every minute, 20 people around the world are forced to flee their homes. That’s 34,000 people a day who leave everything behind in the hope of finding safety and a better tomorrow. More people have been forced to flee their homes by conflict and crisis than at any time since the Second World War, and some of those unfortunate refugees have found a safe haven in Greece after perilous, life-threatening journeys, but then they are faced with the difficult task of taking care of their family in a new land. In a country which has been suffering from a stagnant economy and unemployment for years, they are struggling to stand on their feet with no savings, no second language, and no stable income.
As the Ramadan is fast approaching, Embrace Relief wants to raise funds to assist 1,000 refugee families in Greece with the most vital of their needs. Each penny will make a difference, and we will make sure that they reach their final destination in the shortest time possible.
