Morogoro Needs Your Help
Clean water is the lifeblood of any thriving community. The residents of Morogoro, Tanzania, a growing city approximately 120 miles west of the capital, Dar es Salaam, know this all too well.
Morogoro is located at the foot of the Uluguru Mountains, and its population has relied on area rivers, streams, and dams for its drinking water for generations. But the city and its surrounding region are growing fast, rapidly increasing the demand for water. Meanwhile, climate change is impacting the regularity of rainfall in the area, straining the water supply further. Residents face regular shortages of safe drinking water, with negative impacts on their health, happiness, and prosperity.
Embrace Relief is looking to change that. That’s why we are launching our Morogoro Water Well Project, an ambitious plan to build 14 separate water wells in the Morogoro Region, boosting the availability of clean, safe drinking water for more than 37,000 residents.
Twelve of these wells will be located in Morogoro city proper, while two will be located in nearby communities. Each will be built in a neighborhood that is home to between 1,500 and 5,000 people, and will ensure that residents will no longer worry about the reliability of their water supply:
Once completed, this project will make a powerful impact on this growing community in Tanzania. Our wells will reduce the likelihood that children in Morogoro contract waterborne illnesses from their drinking water. They will additionally ensure an abundant and stable food supply, support local efforts to overcome climate change, and spur economic development.
But we can’t build these wells without your support.
Donate to our Morogoro Water Well Project and help Embrace Relief create a brighter future for tens of thousands of people in Tanzania! Together, we can ensure that no one lives without safe, clean drinking water.
