Campaign story
More than 110 people -- including more than 30 children -- have lost their lives following torrential rains that caused once-in-a-century flooding in Kerr, Burnet and Travis counties, located to the north and west of San Antonio and Austin. The storms, which struck the region early Friday morning, dropped as much as 6 inches of rain in a matter of hours, overwhelming roads, riverbanks, and residential neighborhoods with little warning. The region continues to be at risk of more flooding from continued rain, hampering search-and-rescue and rebuilding efforts.
While the full extent of the damage is still being assessed, it is clear that communities in the affected area will face a long, painful recovery as the floodwaters recede. It is also clear that the need for immediate support is substantial.
Embrace Relief's Texas Flood Relief Fund, in partnership with the Raindrop Foundation, is working in cooperation with local authorities to ensure that affected families have the critical supplies they need to recover, including food, water, clothing, first aid, and more. As the situation continues to evolve, we are also prepared to respond and provide further aid wherever it is needed.
In this trying time, you can make a powerful impact on families in need. Donate today and join Embrace Relief and the Raindrop Foundation in offering a helping hand to our friends in Texas!
