The recent conflict in Lebanon has forced countless families to leave their homes and seek shelter elsewhere, often turning them into refugees within their own country. Many have found temporary residence in schools, mosques, churches, and government buildings—places never meant to serve as long-term accommodations. Unfortunately, due to limited resources, local authorities can only offer so much assistance.
In dire situations such as this, the most vulnerable are children and mothers. Forced from their homes, they now live in makeshift conditions: sometimes a family will be assigned a single classroom, while others must settle for a hastily sectioned-off space created by hanging sheets. They have had to leave behind almost everything they owned as they fled from the conflict.
Embrace Relief’s Response
Thanks to your support, Embrace Relief has been able to step in and help. We are currently providing food assistance and winter clothing to those in need. For example, at one of the schools we’ve identified, we are serving daily meals—five days a week—to approximately 200 refugees, including children.
As winter sets in, Embrace Relief has also launched a project to provide warm clothing for 100 children. Recently, we held our first clothing distribution, allowing 50 children and their families to personally select cold-weather gear. The difference was immediately noticeable—both in their appearance and in their spirits.
A Moment of Joy and Normalcy
After the clothing distribution, we organized a small party for the children and their families. With your support, we offered games, favorite meals, cakes, and gifts. The children were transported from the school to the store for their new clothes, then treated to a meal at a restaurant, followed by fun activities and desserts, before returning to their temporary shelter.
The result was heartfelt and uplifting. Families expressed profound gratitude, and children were filled with joy. Many of them said that this event helped them forget the conflict, even if just for a little while, and they offered their profound thanks to Embrace Relief and its donors.
