Ramadan 2024 will soon be upon us, and this time of fasting, prayer and reflection serves as a profound reminder of the plight of those who endure hunger daily. When we feel the hunger pangs of the Ramadan fast, we can empathize with the struggles of the estimated 720 million people facing food insecurity worldwide.
The ongoing world hunger crisis touches every single country on the planet. Everywhere we can find people who are in need of support from their communities. So it is imperative for all of us to give what we can, so that we can ease hunger wherever we find it.
At Embrace Relief, this is our mission during our International Hunger Relief: Ramadan 2024 campaign. Thanks to the generosity of donors like you, we delivered nutritious food packages to more than 30,000 people in 13 countries during our Ramadan 2023 campaign. This year, with your help, we aim to reach even more people and give hope to some of our most vulnerable, struggling friends around the world.

Where You Can Make An Impact in 2024
$7 Provides a day’s food for a child
Hunger is particularly devastating for children because of the long-term physical, mental, and cognitive effects they may suffer as a result of malnourishment. It is critical to ensure that all children have the food they need to grow up big, strong and healthy.
And with the help of Embrace Relief and our worldwide partners, you can make a true impact for just seven dollars. For each $7 you donate to our International Hunger Relief: Ramadan 2024 Children’s Fund, you will provide a day’s worth of meals – both iftar and suhoor – to a child during Ramadan. For the price of an expensive morning latte, you can give a child the nutrition they need to grow up strong.
Hunger in Africa
Nearly half of the world’s food-insecure population lives in Africa, the result of generations of poverty, food production disruptions caused by climate change, and conflicts on the continent. The hunger crisis touches many countries, but particularly sub-Saharan countries where poverty is the deepest.
During Embrace Relief’s Ramadan 2023 campaign, we delivered food packages and meals to more than 18,000 people in six of these countries: Tanzania, Burkina Faso, Uganda, Mali, Ethiopia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Hunger in Yemen
The extended conflict in Yemen, now entering its 11th year, continues to immiserate millions of people and leave them without access to basic foods. Yemen has one of the highest rates for child malnutrition in the world, and more than half of its population – 17 million people – are food-insecure.
Since the start of 2022, Embrace Relief has provided more than 1 million loaves of bread to people in need in the capital city, Sanaa, as part of a daily bread distribution. And during Ramadan 2023, more than 1,000 people benefited from our food package distribution. Your donation will be crucial, as many Yemenis can survive only because of the generosity of donors like you, and humanitarian aid organizations like Embrace Relief.
Hunger in Greece
In Greece, thousands of people live as refugees, having fled persecution and conflict in their home country. This can be a difficult life, as men and women must find a way to provide their families with housing, food, education, and other basic needs while navigating an unfamiliar country, language, and culture.
To support our refugee friends in Greece, Embrace Relief provided food packages to more than 1,600 people during our Ramadan 2023 campaign. A donation for our refugee friends in Greece will help provide the security they need to rebuild their lives, free from hunger.
Hunger in the United States
Despite the great wealth of the United States, many of our neighbors here are struggling to put food on their plates. An estimated 44 million Americans are food-insecure, and one in six households with children faced food-insecurity in 2022.
During our Ramadan 2023 campaign, Embrace Relief provided food packages to more than 200 families. Reaching out and lending a helping hand to our neighbors is one of the best ways we can show our humanity. Donate today and help us provide food to our American friends in need!
