As 2018 concludes, Embrace Relief expresses gratitude for donor support in refugee relief in Greece and food distribution in Yemen. The organization invites year-end tax-deductible donations and new stock donation options to sustain operations into 2019.

Food distribution efforts in Yemen provided essential items like flour, rice, sugar, and oil to thousands of families in Sana’a.
Regular campaigns including disaster relief, clean water, and education will continue alongside specific refugee and food projects in 2019.
Year-end donations made before December 31 are tax-deductible for 2018, and stock donations are now accepted.

Refugee Families in Greece
One of the flash campaigns of this year was the refugee families in Greece campaign. As you are well aware, thousands of refugees fleeing persecution at home have been trying to find a safe haven in Greece. Unfortunately, some of them have lost their lives during treacherous journeys, and the ones who finally made it find it hard to survive in a new country with no financial resources. As part of the refugee relief campaign, Embrace Relief has helped many of those families stand on their feet again with monthly stipends.

Food Distribution in Yemen
Another big project of the year was the food distribution in Yemen. According to the UN, the situation in Yemen is the world’s worst man-made humanitarian disaster with 8.4 million people considered at risk of starvation. We have been delivering essential food items (flour, rice, sugar, and oil) to vulnerable families mainly in the capital city of Sana’a, and thousands of families in Yemen have received Embrace Relief food packages already. Both of these campaigns will continue in 2019 as well. On top of them, our regular campaigns (disaster relief, clean water, children, education, health and women’s empowerment projects) will continue as usual.

Remember: Only with your support can Embrace Relief continue its vital work! You can use this donation for your 2018 tax returns, as long as it is made before December 31! Also, you can support Embrace Relief by donating stocks for the first time this year.
